Fundraising
The cost of maintaining St Mary’s church is the responsibility of its parishioners. In the past few years we have had to spend sizeable sums of money on repairs and redecoration. We are grateful for the grants we have received, but the majority of the funds have come from the parishioners
There are several different ways in which you can donate to our church
One Off Donations – if you are a visitor to our church and would like to make a one-off donation, we would be very grateful. If you are a UK taxpayer, then please look out for the special envelopes. Just complete the details on the front, place your donation in the envelope, put it in one of the collection bags.
Weekly Offering – if you are a parishioner and attend Mass either regularly or a little less so, then we can let you have a supply of Offertory Envelopes. You can also make your donation by Standing Order, if that’s easier. Furthermore, if you are a UK taxpayer, then you can Gift Aid your donation, and the parish can re-claim 25% of your donation from the taxman. Gift Aid can be taken out at any time of the year. It is a valuable source of additional income to the parish at no extra cost to the parishioners; just ensure that you have paid more tax in the year than an amount equal to the sum of all your charitable donations in the year. |

Wills & Bequests – Our parish has benefited greatly in the past from the thoughtfulness of parishioners who have remembered the church in their Wills. Is this something that you might consider?
